Do you have experience working with or raising teens? Want to make a positive impact on others' lives? We're looking for people just like you to work in our Residential Care team as Social Care Practitioners.

With our first home open in Oxton, we are working on opening the second home in Wallasey. We're looking for brilliant people to join the current team or come on board later in the year, once Juno Wallasey is up and running.


The Role

Place of work: Wirral, Merseyside

Salary band: Unqualified - £24,000 - £25,500

Experienced in the industry - £26,000 - £27,500 Level 3 qualified - £28,000 - £29,500

Bank (residential care experience required) - £12/h

Job terms: Permanent; full-time or part-time (including Bank)


As Juno's Social Care Practitioner, you will provide day-to-day care for children and young people living with us. You will quickly establish trusting relationships and support people in our care with their education, shared activities, and overall wellbeing.


We will provide all necessary training and plenty of support, so you feel confident in the role. If you demonstrate an aptitude for the work, this could be your career – we’ll fund you to get a Diploma and then a Foundation Degree.


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Organising, participating in and planning shared activities and interests with children to nurture their wellbeing, learning and growth

  • Working flexibly to meet changing demands and being willing to take on new tasks and responsibilities to ensure the safe day-to-day running of the home

  • Taking responsibility for ensuring the health and safety of children, the workforce and visitors to the home by maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment

Who are we looking for?

We need individuals who can build supportive relationships with children (mainly teenagers) and will be good advocates and role models for them.


Requirements for the role include:

  • 1 year of voluntary or paid experience working with 10-20-year-olds

  • Driving licence

  • Willingness to obtain Enhanced DBS clearance

  • Qualified position only: Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Care (or equivalent - including teaching, child development, psychology degree etc.)
