We're looking for people with experience in children's residential care, to help us deliver high quality care to young people living with us.
Within the Juno team, this role will be called Social Care Practitioner, as we believe "care" is an active word.
Place of work: Wirral, Merseyside
Salary: £24,500 - £29,000
Job terms: Full time, permanent (4 x 9h shifts, split between early, late, and waking night)

As Juno's Social Care Practitioner, you will provide day-to-day care for children and young people living with us. You will quickly establish trusting relationships and support people in our care with their education, shared activities and their overall wellbeing.
Your responsibilities will include:
Working effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure consistent quality of care
Organising, participating in and planning shared activities and interests with children to nurture their wellbeing, learning and growth
Working flexibly to meet changing demands and be willing to take on new tasks and responsibilities to ensure the safe day-to-day running of the home
Taking responsibility for ensuring the health and safety of children, the workforce and visitors to the home by maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment

Who are we looking for?

We need individuals who can build supportive relationships with children (mainly teenagers) and will be good advocates and role models for them.
Requirements for the role include:
Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Care (or equivalent)
Experience of working with children in a residential care setting
Knowledge of children’s rights and of adolescent mental health, and therapeutic approaches (including trauma-informed practice)
Understanding of the risks and issues facing children in care and their families
